Can't Think of a Title.....

This weekend was, shall I say exciting? Well, Friday night had the most excitement. Mom, Dad, Chris, Zach and I were going to Thomasville to eat supper at Ryan's. I was driving because Dad had been, well drinking a little, so we are off to supper and Dad told me that I was going to fast. (Backseat driver) :) Well I start to slow down, for one because he told me to and two because we were coming to the end of the road and we had to turn. Well all of a sudden I hear this really weird noise. I am like what is that? And Dad said you have a flat tire. And sure enough we did. So we are parked on the edge of a major road with log trucks and other big trucks going by trying to change the tire. After a little while Mom, Zach and I decided we were going to go see what we might have run over because it slashed the tire. So we are walking back to the other road and who do we see? HANNIE!! They are sitting on the side of the road too. They had to take Richards brother's boat to the river and had lost their life jackets. So they stopped. I bet she was wondering why we were walking down the road. HA! So we go back to where the truck was because Zach insisted that Hannie see the flat tire. And then when Richard pulls up in the truck Zach says "Hey, bring a tire pumper upper!" He was hungry! haha!! Well after 1 1/2 to 2 hours we finally get the tire back on because they couldn't figure out how to get the tire off the bottom of the truck. A guy that Dad knows stopped and helped. If he hadn't come we would still be sitting there. haha! After it was all over I looked at Han and said "How many men does it take to change a tire?" She said 4 (5 if you count Zach yelling at them telling them what to do) haha!

Saturday we decided to go with Mom and Dad again to get Chris and Dad's CB's fixed. Great experience. haha! After that we went to Hannah and Richard's house. Zach was excited because they now have a dish so he can watch TV when he goes there. haha! Zach and Richard had on the same outfit almost so we took their picture and then Mr. Photographer (Zach) wanted to take some pictures so he told everyone to go stand in the yard for him to take pics.

Yesterday was kind of a lazy day. We didn't do much of anything. And then we went to Mom's, they had gone to Momo's and got a pic of Dad when he was a baby. He had on a dress!! It is the cutest thing!! Mom said it looked like me when I was little.....

The Crashed Truck

I took Zach by to see Daddy's crashed truck yesterday....he wanted to know how they were going to fix it. I told him that they couldn't fix it. And he said well he needs a new one. And that was all that was said. I thought he was going to get a little upset about it. But he didn't.

MONDAY!

Monday was not a good day for The Potter's.

I was sitting here wondering where I should take Zach on our vacation this year, talking to mom on the phone, because she goes with us since Chris can't. And Peggy brought me a note that said to call Lisa where Chris works. I knew right then in the back in of my mind that it was not a good call. So I hung up with mom and called her. I don't remember exactly what she said I just remember her saying that Chris had been in an accident. WHAT!???!?!?! I, of course, started crying. I tried to calm myself down. She said he wanted me to make sure that you knew that he was not pinned in the truck and he is talking and walking around.

Then I asked the stupidest question that I possibly could. I bet she thinks I am the looniest person ever. I said, "Do I need to go where he is?" What!!?!!?! Why on earth would any sane person say something like that? HA! Anyway, I get to where he is and the first thing out of his mouth to me is, "I promise I wasn't speeding." And I was like ok we aren't worried about that right now. I am just glad that you are ok.

He had to have 7 stitches in his head, he has a black eye, a bruise on his leg from the steering wheel, a gash on his finger that they glued together, and some stratches on his back. But he is ok. Not like last time at all. THANK GOD!

The Wedding!!

The wedding went GREAT!! Zach and Hunter were the ring bearers. They stood up there with Hannah and Richard. When the preacher told them to repeat after him, Zach, I guess, thought he was talking to him so he repeated every word back to him. It was funny.

Last night, Chris was on his way to bed and we looked out the window and there was a sherriff's car pulling up. WHAT!!! I couldn't imagine what we had done. Well, turns out our neighbor's decided to tell them that Chris was parking his big truck in their drive way. Ok first of all, they should have the guts to come over and tell us instead of calling the police, Second, the guy is my COUSIN that lives next door!! If he couldn't call me then he could have called my mom or dad. But, anyway, Chris was not in their driveway. He was all the way on our property, they just got mad because they can't use their makeshift driveway that goes through our property. That is sooooo childish!! And then the officer said that the road department said that he was parked in the road sometimes! I guess Sunday while they were supposed to be cleaning up the tree they decided to lie!! He is off the road every bit of 2 feet. And it's not like we are on a major highway. I mean come on!!

I just had to vent a little....until next time!!

Wondering.....

I wonder what it would be like if my Meme were still alive....I bet her and Zach would get along really good. I can just see them playing around. She was always such a great person. I can't believe it has almost been 8 years since she died! It just seems like yesterday. I still sometimes don't think she is really gone. I know that is crazy for me to think that. Hannah and I were talking at Easter about how she used to help us hunt the eggs. Knowing that she was the one that hid them to begin with. haha! She would help me and Hannah would get mad and sit down and not move and she would leave me and go help her. :) I remember that everytime we were leaving her Hannah would have to pick her up. She was so little. That was their thing. :) So sweet. Hannah couldn't have been more than 10 or so when she started doing that. When I think about her though I don't think about what she looked like when she got sick, I think about what she looked like before.

I wrote a thing in college about how I would deal with things if I got cancer and I said that I would never have chemo done because I saw what it did to my Meme. Although mine wasn't as bad as hers I did eat my words 4 years later when I had to start having shots for my chemo. I guess she did it for us, so that she could be with us just a little longer.

I remember too before she got really sick me, her and my mom went to take her to the doctor and we took her to The Olive Garden and she told everyone that we had like 7 meals because they give you the salad, breadsticks, and everything before they actually bring you the meal. It was funny.

I don't know why I was thinking about that today.

What a Weekend!!

First of all we went to the Bay Bears game Friday night. I don't even know who won because we left at 8:30 because there was a drunk man behind us and his children and then the game was sucky. By the 5th inning the BayBears were behind. So we decided to leave and plus Zach was wanting all the food that he was smelling and I couldn't see paying that much for a hot dog!! We did get him some cotton candy, I thought the guy said that it was $2.50 and it was $3.50 so I told him nevermind and he said we will just call it even and gave it to Zach. haha!!

Then on Saturday we didn't do much of anything but sit around the house and clean up. Then we went to buy groceries after 3. Oh what fun!!!

But Sunday was our biggest day of excitement!!! I was sitting in the living room about 10 or a little after and I hear this BIG gust of wind and then some other sounds and then I heard another weird sound and the lights went off. Then I smelled something burning, so I looked out the window and there is the BIG tree that was across the road in the yard!! I was terrified! So I ran and got Chris up and I scared him because he was in a deep sleep. :) So he ran out the door to see if anything was on fire. Zach was running around too wondering what was going on. I called the power company and I got this automated thing and it tells me that my phone number was not a customer number (HA!) (guess I will stop paying my bill) (HA!) The people that finally came to fix it were not really nice at all. They said that we would have to get someone else to get the tree out of the road. The people that were getting the tree out of the road didn't get there until after 12. And then all they did was push it to the other side of the road. haha! Oh well!!

Thank God It's Friday!!!

It's Friday!! Can you tell I am excited!! We have tickets to a Bay Bears game tonight but I don't know if we are going to get to go or not. Chris may not get off work in time. It starts at 7:05! I don't think Zach is going to sit through the entire thing. Either way I am leaving work early!! Hannah and Richard are supposed to be going with us. They said that they weren't going to go unless we did. I just don't want to sit at home tonight. And I know Chris needs something to get his mind off of things that are happening. He hasn't talked to his mom since Monday and of course she hasn't bothered to call the house either. :( Dale did call him this morning. I was beginning to think that he wasn't going to call and that he was just going to erase us from his mind. I am glad that he finally called Chris back though.

I don't know what we are going to do tomorrow. Probably the same thing as usual....just clean and sit. haha!! It is good to not have to do anything. :)

I forgot to tell something about Zach. He was helping me set the table Monday night and getting the forks and things out of the dishwasher and he lost his footing and fell down on the corner of the door.

Of course he blamed it on Daddy because he was standing at the sink washing his hands. And poor Daddy didn't say that he didn't do it he just said that he was sorry. It was very traumatic. He has a big bruise on his tummy and chest from it.

He says for me to touch it to see if it hurts. haha!! It is funny.

But he is ok now. He just likes to use it as a sympathy thing lately. :)

Is it Friday yet?

Well, tomorrow is Friday and I will be soooo glad. I don't know what is wrong with me. I just have this feeling that I hate myself lately. I don't know why. This morning it just got worse than it had been all week.

I feel bad about everything that is going on with Chris. His mom hasn't even called to say anything to him since he talked to her Monday. First of all I wouldn't have lied to my son for so long, but if I had then I would be calling all the time telling him how sorry that I am that I did what I did back then. I wouldn't just sit in my house and wait on him to call me. But that is just my opinion. Doesn't count for much....haha! I am thinking of writing her a letter because I know if I try to talk to her on the phone I will just get even more upset because of the tone of her voice. Like she knows everything and no one else knows what is going on or is it sarcasm....I can't decide. But anyway i am thinking about doing that.

Anyway, we got some tickets for a Bay Bears game for tomorrow night. I don't know if we are going to be able to go or not. Chris might get home late.

Not Dad.....

Yesterday was not a very good day for us....We found out that the man that Chris' mom has been telling him for 29 years is his dad, is in fact NOT his dad!! I was heartbroken....I can only imagine what Chris was thinking. I don't know if I am upset at his mom or just upset because he doesn't know. I could call her a bunch of names...but what would that accomplish? Nothing. I doubt she will ever tell the truth about the situation. I just know that I have to be there for Chris no matter what he decides to do....if he wants to never see his mom again, I won't force him to call her or see her. I am trying to give him his space with it. I don't want him to think I am mad at him, it is not his fault. He didn't ask her to be born. She did that all on her own, just like she lied to him all on her own. I just have so much anger. Not towards Chris, but just in general about the situation.

I can't imagine not knowing my dad. Chris can call my dad his dad if he wants to....I won't mind. I know that my dad and him get along really well and that Chris thinks of him as a father figure because he has shown him so much. If Chris decides to persue this other guy that his mom is now saying might be his dad then I will stand behind him 100%. I will do whatever he wants....but it has to be up to him. I love you Chris!! and no matter what you will always be special to me!! It doesn't matter if you have a dad or not...just know that you can always count on me and Zach to be there for you!!

Easter weekend....

This past weekend was a pretty busy weekend for us....We went to the fair with Hannah and Richard Friday night....Zach had a blast.

Then on Saturday we just sat around the house and cleaned up. But then Sat. night we went to Atmore to watch "Meet the Robinsons"!

Yesterday we went to Melinda's and Mom's for Easter. It was a great day!! Here are some pics!

FRIDAY!!!!

It's Friday!! We are getting off work at 12!! YEAH!! I am so happy!! But I just wanted to post a little note before I have to get back to work.
